Betty Brady’s Baked Prosciutto Wrapped Figs

Ingredients

  • 9 large fresh mission figs
  • 1/4 lb. of fresh thinly sliced prosciutto
  • 4 ounces gorgonzola cheese
  • Honey or balsamic glaze for drizzling (optional)
  • Walnuts/Pecan halves (optional)

1Step 1

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Gently clean figs, remove stem, and slice each in half lengthwise.

2Step 2

  • Stack cheese pieces on each half fig. Add walnut or pecan if you want.
  • Wrap fig and gorgonzola with thinly sliced prosciutto all the way around.

3Step 3

  • Arrange on baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes.
  • Cheese should be soft and the prosciutto has begun to crisp.
  • Optional: drizzle with honey, aged balsamic vinegar or balsamic reduction.
