Fettuccine Alfredo

  • 12 ounces of dried fettuccine (or whatever pasta of your choice)
  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan (4 ounces)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: Chicken, peas, prosciutto, spinach, etc.

1Step 1

Cook pasta according to the direction on its container.

2Step 2

As the pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

3Step 3

When pasta is cooked, drain and add to skillet with heavy cream, Parmesan, and salt and pepper to taste. Toss over low heat until the pasta is well coated. If adding ingredients, add to the skillet at this time.
