Over the years, Rombauer Vineyards has passionately supported the UCSF Pancreas Center to support pancreatic cancer research and clinical care. This support has been in honor of Joan Rombauer and the exceptional care she received from UCSF in her final years.
Rombauer has donated 1.5 million dollars to endow a three-year Training Fellowship to support research and investigators interested in curing pancreatic cancer.
Another 5-million-dollar donation covers the Director of the UCSF Pancreas Center, Margaret Tempero’s professorship and her leading of the fight against pancreatic cancer. She is the recipient of the Rombauer Family Distinguished Professorship in Pancreas Cancer Clinical and Translation Science.
Rombauer Vineyards is proud to support this program at the forefront of pancreatic cancer research, a disease that took our matriarch too early and continues to be a leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. We will continue to support its programming, among others, as part of our broader philanthropic commitment.
